Overview:The Packaging Specialist is responsible for packaging, labeling, and preparing cannabis products for retail sale while maintaining strict compliance with state regulations and company quality standards. This role primarily supports concentrate and vape production through concentrate packaging, cartridge filling, finished goods assembly, labeling, and quality control activities. The Packaging Specialist helps ensure products are accurately packaged, compliant, and ready for distribution.

Packaging & Production
 

  •  Weigh and package cannabis concentrates, including wax, shatter, live resin, rosin, and distillate products.
  • Fill, cap, and assemble cannabis vape cartridges using approved equipment and procedures.
  • Assemble finished goods into retail-ready packaging.
  • Apply labels, compliance stickers, and product information to finished products.
  • Verify packaging materials, labels, and components match production work orders.
  • Perform product inspections to ensure quality, consistency, and presentation standards are met.
  • Prepare products for transfer to inventory and distribution.


Compliance & Inventory
 

  • Accurately complete production logs and packaging documentation.
  • Follow all OLCC, OSHA, and company compliance requirements.
  • Maintain chain-of-custody procedures for cannabis products.
  • Report inventory discrepancies, damaged products, or compliance concerns to management.
  • Assist with inventory counts and reconciliation as needed.


Quality Assurance
 

  •  Conduct visual inspections of products, packaging, and labels for accuracy and compliance. 
  • Ensure products meet company quality standards before release.
  • Maintain clean and organized workstations throughout production activities.
  • Follow all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)


Facility Support
 

  •  Assist with cleaning and sanitizing packaging equipment and work areas.
  • Organize packaging supplies and materials.
  • Support production and warehouse operations as needed.
  • Participate in training, safety meetings, and continuous improvement initiatives.


Required Qualifications
 

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to perform repetitive tasks with accuracy.
  • Ability to accurately weigh and handle cannabis products.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Basic math and recordkeeping skills.
  •  Ability to stand for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift and move up to 30 pounds.


Preferred Qualifications
 

  • Previous experience in cannabis processing, manufacturing, packaging, or production environments.
  • Experience filling vape cartridges or packaging concentrates.
  • Familiarity with OLCC regulations and compliance requirements.
  • Experience operating scales, filling equipment, or packaging machinery.
